We are a co-educational private elementary/middle school located in Southeast Houston. Affiliated with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Queen of Peace Catholic School is dedicated to integrating faith and knowledge in the rich tradition of Catholic education.
From the Principal:
Queen of Peace continues to have success stories. We were blessed with the presence of Cardinal DiNardo at the Priest/Principal Brunch on January 27th. Priests and Principals were able to visit the school, and told us they were impressed with the Catholic atmosphere on our campus.
Catholic Schools’ Week was a great success! We held our Spring Open House on January 30th, with many new families who have taken advantage of Early Registration. Our Book Fair made a profit of over $700.00. The school also held a rosary on January 31st and wrote letters to the Bishop and the Cardinal. Career Day was a lot of fun! Houston Firefighters talked about fire safety and gave our older students the opportunity to try on their gear. Students donated baby items to Project Gabriel as a form of service. Multicultural Day was also a great success. Students were able to study different countries and enjoyed music and food from various cultures.
Our school Spelling Bee winners attended the Archdiocese competition. Jerry Amaro and Janvee Patel represented our school at these events.
Several of our students received “Honorable Mention” in the University of St. Thomas Essay contest. They are John Roman, Dev Patel and Joshua Sanchez. Those students and their teachers attended a prayer service where they were recognized by Superintendent Sr. Kevina and Cardinal DiNardo.
Several students attended the Science Fair for the Archdiocese: Angelica Ordaz, Joshua Ramirez, Pakawan Phokapant and Mathew Soto (6th grade), Darren Lowry, Jerry Amaro, Crystal Cano, Kiersten Rosales (7th grade), Rene Bustos, Anastasia Tristan, Douglas Davila, and Sarah Cordoba (8th grade). At the Archdiocese level, Mathew Soto received Honorable Mention.
Our Valentine Dance/Dinner was also well attended. Thank you to the P.T.O. for their continued support with the cooking, serving and cleaning of the gym. Thank you also to Christopher Cuellar for donating his time and talent by providing DJ music for the dance. Thank you to all parents who donated items for the dance.
Parents, please practice friendly driving while picking up your child. For the safety of our students, please do not drive more than 5 mph in the parking lot.

Our History:
In 1947, Queen of Peace School, with four classrooms, a library and an office, was built. The school opened on Monday, September 8, 1947, with 105 students in grades one through eight. Four more classrooms were added in 1949, and in 1955, another four classrooms. The Dominican Sisters were the first to staff the school, with Sr. Loretta Raphael as the first principal. On February 9, 1962, ground broke on the present church. The first Mass was celebrated on Sunday, December 2, 1962.
