We are a co-educational private elementary/middle school located in Southeast Houston. Affiliated with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Queen of Peace Catholic School is dedicated to integrating faith and knowledge in the rich tradition of Catholic education.

From the Principal

Queen of Peace has had a very busy Spring. We have been blessed in many ways and continue to have a rich tradition and strong faith. We received funds from the Archdiocese and St. Michael’s Catholic Church which will be  used to upgrade curriculum. We have purchased iPADS, dry erase boards for each classroom, Social Studies textbooks, novels for Middle School, Math manipulatives, calculators, and Guided Reading books. Our students wrote thank you notes for all the blessings and faith that others have in our school.

We celebrated the Lenten Season by  attending a student-led Stations of the Cross. The Stations serve to help the faithful make a spiritual pilgrimage of prayer, through meditating upon the scenes of Christ's sufferings and death.  Our Lenten Project was to bring caps  for children at M.D. Anderson. Several students brought caps which were delivered to the hospital.

We would like to  encourage you to take advantage of the Early Registration discount for your student application. The deadline for  Early Registration is April 15th. New and returning families have taken advantage of this opportunity.

On March  23th, we had our Talent Show. Students sang and danced to their favorite songs.  We have many gifted students at  Queen of Peace, and we are very proud of them!  Our 5th graders attended Camp Kappe. Thank you to Mrs. Sanchez and Mr. Aguilar for chaperoning. Students enjoyed their time at camp and were able to meet other students from  the Archdiocese.  We are looking forward to our Casino Night on April 27th!  Thank you for continuing to help us with this annual fundraiser.  These events help keep our tuition cost low compared to other schools. We appreciate all you do help Queen of Peace!

We are currently working on our schedules for the 2012-2013 school year. Our  Middle School students will have additional electives next year: Computer, Spanish, and Music! We also plan to have a choir.  We are in need of volunteers during the summer months.  We will be painting classrooms, cleaning sidewalks, reorganizing the library—along with other projects. If you are available, please call the office and let us
know.

Our History:

In 1947, Queen of Peace School, with four classrooms, a library and an office, was built. The school opened on Monday, September 8, 1947, with 105 students in grades one through eight. Four more classrooms were added in 1949, and in 1955, another four classrooms. The Dominican Sisters were the first to staff the school, with Sr. Loretta Raphael as the first principal.  On February 9, 1962, ground broke on the present church.  The first Mass was celebrated on Sunday, December 2, 1962.
